The i-HUB is part of the newest generation of IDENTEC SOLUTIONS’
Intelligent Long Range® (ILR®) RFID readers. By way of electronic
reader modules, the i-HUB collects, filters and edits data from readers
of different technologies and allows seamless integration of data stored
on the tags to a Host System.
Systems equipped with ILR tags and readers provide identification and
real-time data collection with maximum accuracy and minimal effort in
wireless applications such as:
! identification
! tracking, and
! localization
of assets and personnel.
Using advanced radio frequency technology, transmit and receive
ranges of up to 100 meters (300 ft) with i-Q and i-B tags and up to six
meters with i-D tags can be achieved.
A total of eight read/write modules can be connected to an i-HUB and
operated concurrently. Signals from the tags are received via all eight
identical reader modules at the same time. The real-time field strength
measurement feature integrated in all eight readers allows for
localization of tags.
The i-HUB’s software is based on the reliable LINUX operating system and contains a variety of features such as:
! Communication with ILR tags
! Concurrent operation of up to eight modules
! Communication to the Host System via Ethernet, USB, serial, WLAN, and GPRS/GSM (with optional PCMCIA plug-in card)
! Integration of external devices such as GPS and modems via a serial interface or PCMCIA plug-in cards
! Data pre-processing
! Control of digital inputs and outputs
! Configuration via Web Interface
An internal real-time clock provides accurate time stamps for data captured from the tags. To avoid data loss, there is also an internal
memory buffer for up to 2000 messages.
