The Intelligent Long Range (ILR®) Software Development Kit (SDK)
can be used to quickly and simply integrate IDENTEC SOLUTIONS’
Long Range Technology into new or existing applications. The SDK
saves programmers time by supplying code that provides RFID
functionality without having to learn RFID communication protocols.
The basic component for mobile RFID applications is the i-CARD 3, a
self-contained RFID reader in compact PCMCIA TypeII format. The
i-CARD 3 and SDK constitute the framework for the design and
installation of applications in combination with handheld devices,
forklift- and other vehicle terminals.
In stationary RFID applications, the SDK provides basic function
calls for the ILR reader i-PORT 3, for example in setting up gate
applications or permanent inventory solutions. Alternatively,
communication with the i-PORT 3 is possible by means of a simple
ASCII protocol.
The SDK supports the following operating systems: Microsoft
Windows, Windows CE, Linux and embedded Linux. Libraries are
available for C, C++, Java, and the Microsoft .NET Framework.
IDENTEC SOLUTIONS requires software programmers to take part
in an SDK training to minimize integration time and maximize SDK
programming proficiency. Training is available at our European
office in Lustenau, Austria, or at our North American office in
Kelowna, BC, Canada. Alternatively, a remote WebExTM training can
be arranged. During the two-day training period, the trainee
receives a general overview of RFID, with special attention given to
our ILR technology, its special features and numerous applications. Using this foundation, together with sample programs, we work
towards the target of creating the customer’s own RFID software applications.
Our customer service doesn’t stop here. Following completion of training, the SDK package also entitles the customer to complimentary
remote support (telephone and e-mail) in the amount of one day maximum or 15 service requests.
With more than a quarter of a million tags and thousands of readers in use, ILR technology is quickly becoming a global leader in active
RFID technology.
