Fluensee Announces Availability of New RFID Study from Aberdeen GroupBy Fluensee Jul 10, 2008
Leading RFID-enabled asset management solution provider Fluensee today announced the availability of a new research report entitled "RFID and IT Infrastructures: Maximizing Business Value" published by Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks Company (NYSE:HHS). Key findings indicate that nearly two-thirds of best-in-class organizations are leveraging RFID to improve the performance of their IT infrastructures, provide better customer service and reduce unplanned downtime. The full report is available for download at no charge at onclick="linkClick( this.href );" href="http://www.aberdeen.com/link/sponsor.asp?spid=30411271&cid=4895" target="_blank">fluensee.com/aberdeen or at onclick="linkClick( this.href );" href="http://www.aberdeen.com/link/sponsor.asp?spid=30411271&cid=4895" target="_blank">aberdeen.com. Sponsored in part by Fluensee, the report indicates that the range of areas in which RFID is being used is expanding beyond traditional 'slap and ship' and 'track and trace' applications, as demonstrated by the variety of assets to which companies are attaching or planning to attach RFID tags. For example, more survey respondents (43%) are tagging or planning to tag IT assets than manufacturing work in process (35%) or inventory (30%), two of the most traditionally popular RFID applications. Aberdeen senior analyst Michael Dortch said, "According to more than 200 survey respondents, the top pressures driving integration of RFID and IT infrastructure management are the desires to ease integration of RFID-generated data with key applications, and to maximize the business value of that data. And best-in-class survey respondents enjoyed an average 6.9% year-over-year reduction in 'time to information' for business intelligence, underscoring the ability of RFID-IT infrastructure management integration to deliver meaningful business benefits." "As a leader in providing RFID solutions that track IT assets, we are helping companies of all sizes properly leverage RFID to more effectively manage their data centers and critical IT assets, providing actionable information with which to streamline operations," said Tim Harvie, Fluensee president and CEO. "This report further validates that companies that focus on integrating RFID and IT infrastructure management can significantly increase the accuracy and availability of information related to tagged assets, reducing "time to information" and enabling better decision making and more efficient business processes."
